The Mayor's Tentative Budget for 2020/2021 is available for review.
As is typical every year, the Mayor and Board of Trustees carefully reviewed the proposed budget to ensure providing residents with the best services at the lowest possible cost. With the COVID-19 pandemic and the adverse economic fallout that it is causing, the Board of Trustees went through the proposed budget with a fine-tooth comb to reduce expenses anyplace possible. The result is a tentative budget that increases only 1.1% over last years. This is despite many costs increasing at a higher rate and aid from New York State that is sure to be decreased.
In fact, this budget come in with a tax levy increase that is 35% lower than the permissible increase under the 2% Property Tax Cap!
