Park Maintenance and Refurbishing: Members and volunteers assist in maintaining the garden areas of Sea Cliff’s parks and public spaces.  New plants, shrubs and flowers are planted as needed.

Restoration of Harbor View at Memorial Park: In 2022, the Beautification Committee responded to many requests from the community and hired a professional contractor to trim trees and shrubs which had grown to obscure the view of Hempstead Harbor from Memorial Park, located at the end of Sea Cliff Avenue.  With the support of the community, Beautification hopes to continue to maintain this scenic overlook.

Flower Baskets and Planters: The Beautification Committee purchases the hanging flower baskets that adorn Village light poles along Sea Cliff Avenue from spring through the fall and also plants and maintains planters located throughout the Village, including those at the Library and Village Hall.

Holiday Wreaths: Every holiday season the Beautification committee purchases ribbons and evergreens that its members fashion into the festive wreaths used to decorate lamp posts on Sea Cliff Avenue, Roslyn Avenue and Glen Cove Avenue for the season.

Secret Gardens Tour Fundraiser: This biannual self-guided tour of charming private gardens is an important means of raising revenue for the Committee’s continuing projects. In addition to visiting beautiful gardens, both formal and informal, the tour includes light refreshments and musical entertainment.

Annual Plant Sale: The Annual Plant Sale, held every spring on the lawn of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, raises funds to support Beautification’s projects throughout the village, including the purchase of the plants and flowers that are used by SCBC in the parks.
