Water Quality Concerns

The Village reached out to New York American Water on behalf of the residents as it relates to concerns of discolored or cloudy tap water. We received the following response:

“This past weekend, New York American Water performed routine maintenance to its water system by flushing out certain water mains within the Sea Cliff district. As a result, residents in this area may have experienced some water discoloration. If residents are experiencing issues with discolored water, they should run their water momentarily until it clears.

In addition, we are experiencing a technical issue with one of the pumping wells in the area. Residents near the site may have witnessed discolored water running into the street that caused some localized flooding. This run off was to prevent the discolored water from entering the distribution system. Due to this unexpected interruption, the well has been removed from service and our team is working diligently to investigate and resolve the issue. While the well remains offline we ask our customers to limit their water usage–in particular, irrigation systems.

We thank our customers for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience. Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to call customer service at 877-426-6999.”
